RIYADH, June 10 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Saudi Arabia will resume Lebanese exports to the Kingdom under a directive from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi foreign ministry announced on Wednesday.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan conveyed the directive during a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
The directive followed a request from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Salam, and came after what the ministry described as positive steps by the Lebanese government to rebuild state institutions.
The ministry also cited progress achieved by specialized teams over the past year, cooperation by the Lebanese side and the fulfillment of required commitments.
During the call, Prince Faisal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for Lebanon’s stability, sovereignty over its entire territory and the well-being of the Lebanese people.
He also expressed confidence that Lebanon would continue taking the necessary measures to ensure the country is not used as a staging ground to harm its neighbors.
