Riyadh, February 16, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Qiddiya Investment Company announced the start of construction for the Performing Arts Centre in Qiddiya City, marking a key milestone in the city’s development as a destination for entertainment, sports, and culture.
The announcement coincided with the laying of the foundation stone, with construction to be carried out by Nesma and Partners.
During the ceremony at the project site on the edge of the Tuwaiq Mountains, Managing Director Abdullah Aldawood highlighted the project’s significance as a transformative addition to Qiddiya City’s cultural offerings. The centre is intended to support local talent and attract international artistic experiences.
The Qiddiya Performing Arts Centre was designed by Tom Wiscombe Architecture, in collaboration with BSBG, featuring futuristic architectural forms with interlocking panels and five illuminated blades integrated into the desert landscape.
Construction follows the launch of the first phase of Qiddiya City in December 2025, which included the opening of Six Flags Qiddiya, and is part of the company’s broader plan to develop integrated destinations for entertainment, sports, and culture.
