JAZAN — Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather warning for moderate to heavy rainfall across the Jazan Region on Friday, with severe conditions expected to continue until 10 p.m.
The alert includes strong winds, near-zero horizontal visibility, hail, flash floods and thunderstorms across several governorates in the region.
Areas covered by the warning include Al-Harth, Al-Dayer Bani Malik, Al-Rayth, Al-Aridah, Al-Eidabi, Fayfa, Harub, Al-Tuwal, Samtah, Ahad Al-Masarihah, Abu Arish, Damad, Sabya, Baish and Al-Darb.
The National Center for Meteorology said the weather conditions are expected to remain in effect through Friday evening.
The warning comes as unstable weather affects parts of Saudi Arabia, with thunderstorms and rainfall forecast across several regions of the Kingdom.
Residents and motorists in affected areas should remain alert to rapidly changing conditions, particularly reduced visibility and the potential for flooding in low-lying areas and valleys.
The severe weather alert remains in effect until 10 p.m. on Friday, August 21.
