Riyadh, March 12 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Bloomberg has told employees based in the Gulf, including staff at its regional headquarters in Dubai, that they may temporarily relocate and work from outside the region, a company spokesperson said on Thursday, as Iran carries out repeated attacks on cities across the Gulf.
The spokesperson confirmed that employees in the region have been given the option to work temporarily from outside the Gulf if they choose to do so.
Most staff have not requested relocation, the spokesperson said, adding that Bloomberg continues to serve clients without interruption.
Companies across the region are taking steps to maintain operations and ensure staff safety as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran nearly two weeks ago.
Several international financial institutions, including Citigroup, Standard Chartered and the London Stock Exchange Group, have also asked employees in Dubai to work remotely.
Iran has carried out a series of attacks on Gulf cities, including drone strikes targeting sites in Dubai such as the airport, port, hotels and residential towers, and has also launched repeated attacks against Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman have also been targeted during the ongoing escalation.
Bloomberg employs journalists and other staff at its regional headquarters in Dubai’s financial district, including personnel supporting its financial data terminal, and maintains additional staff elsewhere in the Gulf, including Saudi Arabia.
