Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-2 to win Spanish Super Cup in Jeddah

Jeddah, Jan 12, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, crowned FC Barcelona as champions of the 2026 Spanish Super Cup after their 3-2 win over Real Madrid at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
The final was played on Sunday evening in front of a crowd of more than 60,000.
Barcelona opened the scoring in the 36th minute through Raphinha. Real Madrid equalised in first-half stoppage time when Vinícius Júnior scored at 45+2.
Barcelona restored their lead at 45+4 through Robert Lewandowski, but Real Madrid levelled again at 45+7 with a goal by Gonzalo García, sending the teams into halftime tied 2-2.
Raphinha scored again in the 73rd minute to put Barcelona ahead for the third time, and the Catalan club held on for the win.
In added time, Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong was shown a straight red card at 90+1 following a challenge on Kylian Mbappé.
Barcelona are the most successful club in Spanish Super Cup history, with 16 titles in 29 appearances. Real Madrid have won the competition 12 times, followed by Athletic Bilbao and Deportivo de La Coruna with three titles each, and Atlético de Madrid with two.
