RIYADH, April 2, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan and Qatar condemned what they said was an Israeli law allowing the death penalty to be imposed in the occupied West Bank and applied against Palestinians.
In a joint statement, the ministers said the measure marked a dangerous escalation, particularly because of what they described as its discriminatory application against Palestinian prisoners.
They warned that increasingly discriminatory Israeli practices were entrenching a system of apartheid and promoting rhetoric that denies the rights and existence of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territory.
The ministers also expressed concern over the conditions of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention, citing reports of torture, inhumane and degrading treatment, starvation and the denial of basic rights.
They said such practices reflected a broader pattern of violations against Palestinians and reaffirmed their opposition to what they described as racially discriminatory, oppressive and aggressive Israeli policies.
The ministers called for accountability and urged stronger international efforts to preserve stability and prevent further deterioration.
