AlUla highlights conservation work on World Biodiversity Day

ALULA, May 22 — The Royal Commission for AlUla highlighted its conservation efforts on World Biodiversity Day, focusing on environmental programmes aimed at protecting natural habitats and restoring native vegetation.
The commission said its conservation model links local development with long-term ecological balance in northwestern Saudi Arabia.
Its programmes include expanding nature reserves, rehabilitating wildlife habitats and restoring native plant life.
The commission also cited breeding and reintroduction initiatives for the critically endangered Arabian leopard, describing the species as important to the balance of desert ecosystems.
