AlUla Date Season Boosts Local Economy with Rising Sales and Global Demand

AlUla, Sept 21, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The AlUla date season continues to attract increasing numbers of farmers, shoppers, and traders, reinforcing its position as a key agricultural and economic platform in Saudi Arabia. Rising sales and new commercial contracts this year have boosted the local economy and highlighted AlUla’s role as a cultural and tourist destination rooted in its agricultural heritage.
AlUla is home to more than 4.1 million palm trees, producing over 169,000 tons of dates annually. Last season, sales exceeded 1.7 million kilograms, generating SAR8.8 million in revenue, along with SAR220,000 from participation in local and international exhibitions.
The Royal Commission for AlUla has supported more than 2,500 farmers through empowerment programs, while 250 farms have been certified for producing high-quality dates that meet national standards. This support has strengthened the reputation of AlUla dates as a premium Saudi product trusted by both domestic consumers and international markets.
