Air France Suspends Flights to Riyadh and Dubai as Regional Security Deteriorates

PARIS, July 20, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Air France suspended flights to Riyadh and Dubai on Monday as the security situation across the Middle East continued to deteriorate.

Flights to and from Riyadh will remain suspended through July 25, while services to and from Dubai have been halted through July 28, the airline said.

Air France also extended its suspension of Beirut services until August 2. Flights to and from the Lebanese capital have been suspended since March 1.

The airline said any resumption would depend on a reassessment of the “rapidly evolving” security situation.

“Air France reiterates that the safety of its customers and crews is its utmost priority,” the carrier said.

The decision came as the United States announced the deployment of additional fighter jets to the region amid intensifying tensions with Iran.

Several international airlines have already suspended Middle East services because of the conflict, including carriers from the United States, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
