Riyadh, March 10, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has shut its Ruwais refinery following a fire that broke out at a facility within the complex after a drone strike, a source familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.

Authorities in Abu Dhabi had earlier said emergency crews were responding to the blaze in Ruwais, adding that no injuries were reported, according to the emirate’s government media office.

The Ruwais complex is a key energy hub housing ADNOC facilities capable of refining up to 922,000 barrels of oil per day, and includes major petrochemical, fertilizer and industrial gas operations.

The refinery was shut down as a precautionary measure, the source told Reuters, adding that other operations at the complex were continuing normally.
