RIYADH, November 29, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, who also serves as President of the 21st session of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) General Conference, announced that Saudi Arabia welcomes the adoption of April 21 as the International Day of Women in Industry.

The designation was approved by UNIDO member states during the General Conference in Riyadh, marking the first global observance dedicated to recognizing the role of women in advancing inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

Alkhorayef said the adoption reflects growing international recognition of the importance of empowering women and strengthening their role in industrial transformation. He added that, in line with Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom continues to expand women's participation in innovation, advanced manufacturing, research and development, and industrial entrepreneurship.

The decision was confirmed during the conference’s dedicated women’s empowerment day, where delegations emphasized that women play a central role in building advanced supply chains, driving technological progress, and enhancing industrial competitiveness.
