UNICEF Says Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Killing More Than 10 Children a Day

Riyadh, March 10, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — UNICEF said Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed more than 10 children per day since the escalation of hostilities earlier this month.
At least 83 children have been killed since Israel launched strikes in Lebanon after the Iran-backed group Hezbollah fired projectiles into Israel following U.S.–Israeli bombing on Iran, UNICEF said Monday.
Lebanon’s Disaster Risk Management Unit reported that 570 people have been killed since March 2.
Israeli evacuation orders covering areas south of the Litani River have displaced around 760,000 people, representing nearly 13% of Lebanon’s population of 5.9 million, according to the Disaster Risk Management Unit.
Humanitarian groups warned that elderly people and pregnant women may struggle to reach shelters, many of which lack adequate privacy and services.
Steve Cutts, chief executive of the UK-based NGO Medical Aid for Palestinians, said some elements of the Israeli military campaign in Lebanon resemble tactics used in Gaza, including mass displacement and disruption of humanitarian operations.
Israel’s offensive in Gaza Strip following the October 7 attacks has killed more than 72,000 people, according to Gaza health authorities.
