UAE says early warning system malfunction sent incorrect missile alerts

ABU DHABI, June 26 — The United Arab Emirates said a technical malfunction in its early warning system caused incorrect messages to be sent to residents about a possible missile threat, Reuters reported.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority said the issue occurred on Friday evening and had been addressed.
The authority said specialised teams had begun corrective procedures to ensure service continuity and minimise any impact.
The alert came after earlier public safety warnings issued during the height of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, when Iranian attacks on targets in the Gulf region, where U.S. military bases are located, prompted UAE authorities to send safety messages to residents.
