UAE Halts Trade and Financial Transactions With Iran Until Further Notice

ABU DHABI, August 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The United Arab Emirates has halted all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice, according to Afra Al Hameli, Director of the Strategic Communications Department at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Al Hameli linked the decision to regional escalations that she said were undermining regional and international peace and security.
The UAE official also rejected allegations concerning the status of the economic relationship between the UAE and Iran. She did not provide details about the allegations or identify their origin.
Al Hameli said the UAE remained firmly committed to protecting the integrity of the international financial system in accordance with international law and the highest global standards.
Despite the suspension of economic transactions, she reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to dialogue, cooperation and regional integration as means of supporting peace, stability and prosperity across the region.
