Riyadh, January 7, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) warned against using certain infant formula products manufactured by Nestlé, following a voluntary recall initiated by the company over potential contamination risks, the authority said.
The SFDA said the warning covers the NAN, ALFAMINO, S-26 GOLD, and S-26 ULTIMA baby formula brands after Nestlé reported the possible presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus, which may pose health risks to infants.
The authority said the measure is part of a precautionary voluntary recall after assessing potential risks, adding that exposure to the toxin may cause symptoms including nausea, repeated vomiting, and abdominal pain.
The SFDA said it has reported no related illness cases to date.
It advised consumers not to use the recalled products and to dispose of them immediately, adding it has taken measures in coordination with Nestlé to withdraw the products from the market and is directly monitoring the implementation of the recall.
Details of the affected products and batch numbers were published in an accompanying table, the SFDA said.
