Saudi Arabia urges citizens to safeguard passports and verify validity before international travel

RIYADH, November 19, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Directorate of Passports has called on citizens planning to travel abroad to protect their passports from damage, loss, or misuse, and to ensure they are stored securely at all times.

The directorate emphasized the need for travelers and their companions to verify the validity of their passports before departure. Passports must be valid for at least three months when traveling to Arab countries and six months for travel to other international destinations.

Citizens traveling to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries must carry either their passport or national identity card.

The directorate clarified that the digital national identity available on the Absher and Tawakkalna platforms, as well as the family registration document, do not permit travel outside the Kingdom.
