Riyadh, March 25, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan renewed their condemnation on Wednesday of what they described as blatant Iranian attacks against their territories, saying the actions violated international law, international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter.
In a joint statement, the countries said the attacks had been carried out either directly or through Iran-backed proxies and armed factions in the region, with particular reference to strikes launched from Iraq by armed groups loyal to Tehran against states in the region and their facilities and infrastructure.
The statement said such actions were in violation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which it said calls on Iran to immediately and unconditionally halt any attack or threat against neighbouring states, including through the use of proxies.
While expressing appreciation for their fraternal relations with Iraq, the countries called on the Iraqi government to take the necessary measures to immediately stop attacks launched by factions, militias and armed groups from Iraqi territory against neighbouring states, in order to avoid further escalation.
The countries reaffirmed what they described as their full and inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the U.N. Charter and their right to take all necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, security and stability.
The statement also condemned what it described as destabilising activities planned by Iran-linked sleeper cells and militant groups tied to Hezbollah, while praising the armed forces and security services of the countries concerned for confronting the attacks and foiling alleged plots.
