LEAP 2026 opens in Riyadh with more than $15 billion in AI, technology deals

RIYADH, Aug 31 (SAUDI ARABIA BREAKING NEWS) - LEAP 2026 opened in Riyadh with more than $15 billion in launches, investments and partnerships announced across artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.
The fifth edition of the technology event, held under the theme “Into New Worlds,” brings together technology and AI figures, investors and innovators from around the world.
Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha said the investments and launches reflected support from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Saudi Arabia’s drive to strengthen its role in the AI era.
Alswaha said the Kingdom had built a model for turning technological ambitions into tangible results through speed of execution, reliability and agility, while highlighting the role of technology and national talent, particularly young people.
The announced investments cover areas including energy, connectivity, semiconductors, data centers, accelerated computing, AI models, cloud services and sector-specific applications.
LEAP 2026 is organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones and Tahaluf.
The event runs until Sept. 3 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, with more than 1,000 speakers, 1,900 investors, 1,800 global technology brands and 600 startups taking part across 16 stages and more than 20 tracks.
