Jeddah, February 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – FIA Formula E World Championship returns to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on February 13–14, with organisers pointing to last season’s event as a driver in reinforcing Jeddah’s place on the championship calendar.
Chief executive Jeff Dodds described electric motorsport as expanding rapidly in Saudi Arabia and put the championship’s local fan base at about five million, alongside expectations of strong attendance at this year’s Jeddah E-Prix.
Dodds traced the championship’s growth in the Kingdom from the first race in Diriyah in 2018, and linked the long-term partnership to sustainability, future mobility and community-impact objectives, including initiatives focused on youth and diversity.
Organisers outlined a fan village with family-oriented activities, including racing simulators, partner exhibits and driver autograph sessions, as well as evening drone shows and fireworks.
On the sporting format, Dodds highlighted the PIT BOOST feature, which brings cars into the pit lane for an energy boost, and pointed to a double-header structure using two different formats — one with PIT BOOST and one without — as a way to vary race strategy.
He also pointed to the local audience profile, with about 3.5 million regular followers in the Kingdom and women accounting for around 50% of the fan base.
Dodds also linked hosting to tourism and local economic activity, with organisers estimating an economic value of 50 million to 100 million euros for host regions, alongside cooperation with Saudi partners across sectors.
Looking ahead, he said the championship’s next-generation GEN4 car is expected to mark a step change in performance and technology.
