Irthi Council Showcases Emirati Crafts at ADIHEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, August 31, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council is presenting Emirati heritage and traditional handicrafts in a modern creative style at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2025, which runs at the ADNEC Centre until September 7.


The Council’s participation marks its first appearance at ADIHEX and reflects its commitment to reimagining traditional crafts through innovative design, aligning with the UAE’s national identity and elevating local craftsmanship to international markets.


Reem BinKaram, Director-General of Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, said hunting and equestrian sports form an integral part of Emirati heritage and identity, noting that the exhibition provides a platform to connect artisans with wider audiences.


She added that the Council’s vision is to expand the reach of traditional crafts locally and globally, showcasing Emirati heritage in a contemporary spirit while supporting artisans in transforming traditions into products that appeal to new generations.


BinKaram emphasized the role of Emirati craftswomen as key partners in preserving heritage and contributing to a diversified and sustainable economy. She noted that Irthi is pioneering in blending traditional crafts with modern design and in empowering craftswomen through training and development programs. The Council now supports a network of more than 840 artisans across the UAE, the wider Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.
