Erdogan, Xi Discuss Middle Corridor, Belt and Road, and Regional Issues in Tianjin

Tianjin, August 31, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday to discuss cooperation on the Middle Corridor and the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as regional and international developments.

The talks took place during Erdogan’s two-day visit to China to attend the 25th Heads of State Council meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Tianjin.

Türkiye’s Communications Directorate said Erdogan stressed the importance of taking joint steps to harmonize the Middle Corridor with China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

The two leaders also discussed the situation in Gaza, the war in Ukraine, and efforts to advance development in Syria.
