RIYADH, September 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Communications, Space and Technology Commission has granted Technical Links Services a permit to establish and operate international landing stations, with the company’s anticipated investment reaching SAR100 million ($26.67 million).

The permit was presented during LEAP 2026 by CST Director General of Licensing Mazen Alnasser to TLS Chief Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Officer Mohammed Al Dafiri.

Under the authorization, TLS will be able to establish, operate and manage international landing stations while providing connectivity and transmission-capacity services to customers within the approved regulatory scope.

The investment is intended to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s telecommunications infrastructure, expand the use of existing corporate assets and create an enabling environment for advanced technologies and international technology companies.

CST said the authorization would support the Kingdom’s digital transformation and strengthen its position as a regional and global center for telecommunications, cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

The initiative is also expected to increase competition, expand the range of infrastructure services available in the domestic market and support the growth of Saudi Arabia’s digital economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
