DUBAI, March 16, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Citigroup said on Monday it will keep most of its branches and offices in the United Arab Emirates closed until further notice after temporarily shutting them last week amid the ongoing regional conflict.
The bank said client-facing operations in the UAE remain suspended while services continue through digital channels.
Citigroup directed customers to use its online banking platform and mobile application, saying it continues to serve clients in the UAE and Bahrain without interruption.
A branch located in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates remains open with reduced operating hours, the bank said.
HSBC said it has also closed some branches in the UAE until further notice while keeping customer service centres in shopping malls open.
The bank also said it has closed all but one of its branches in Qatar.
The conflict involving Iran has entered its third week and has disrupted regional transport and energy markets.
Citigroup reported $17.3 billion in exposure to the UAE at the end of 2025, including loans.
