Jeddah, February 26, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Al Balad, Jeddah’s historic district, has become a focal point for residents and visitors during Ramadan nights, offering heritage settings and cultural activities linked to Hijazi identity.

After Taraweeh prayers, narrow alleys fill with foot traffic under lanterns and traditional lighting, illuminating coral-stone buildings and carved wooden windows known as rawasheen, some dating back more than five centuries.

Visitors tour historic houses including Beit Nassif and Beit Al Matbouli and shop in traditional markets such as Souq Al Alawi and Souq Qabil for spices, oriental perfumes, textiles and handcrafted goods.

Cultural and artistic events take place across historic squares, including Balad Al-Fann performances, alongside exhibitions and interactive experiences.

Heritage cafés and restaurants serve traditional dishes and Ramadan beverages in settings geared toward evening gatherings.

The activities are part of initiatives aimed at developing Historic Jeddah as a global cultural destination, strengthening its Ramadan programming and supporting tourism diversification through heritage-led cultural offerings.
