Weather Alert: Strong Winds and Light Rain Expected in Southern Regions of Saudi Arabia


The National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather alert for several regions in Saudi Arabia. Residents of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha are advised to prepare for strong winds accompanied by light to moderate rainfall. These conditions may also extend to parts of the highlands of Makkah.


In addition, residents of the Eastern Region and Riyadh should be cautious as dust-stirring winds are forecasted.


For maritime activities, northeasterly to northwesterly winds are expected over the Red Sea, with speeds ranging from 10-30 km/h in the northern part, northwesterly to southwesterly winds at 10-28 km/h in the central part, and southeasterly to southwesterly winds at speeds of 12-35 km/h in the southern part. Wave heights will range from half a meter to a meter, with generally calm seas.


In the Arabian Gulf, northerly to northwesterly winds are anticipated in the northern and central parts, reaching speeds of 10-30 km/h, while northwesterly to southwesterly winds at speeds of 10-28 km/h are expected in the southern part. Similar to the Red Sea, wave heights will range from half a meter to a meter, with calm sea conditions prevailing.
