Sports Minister Praises King And Crown Prince For Supporting Saudi Sports


The Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, expressed his great appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his patronage of the final match of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Cup for the 2022/2023 sports season.


He also thanked His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for attending and honoring the final match held on Friday evening at Jeddah-based King Abdullah Sports City Stadium between Al Hilal and Al-Wehda football teams.


The Minister of Sports said that the patronage of the King and the attendance of the Crown Prince confirmed the great interest and unlimited support provided for the sports sector in Saudi Arabia, which is moving steadily towards achieving the ambitions and objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.



He added that the sports sector in Saudi Arabia has witnessed remarkable development and progress in recent years, thanks to the wise leadership and guidance of the King and the Crown Prince.


The Minister of Sports congratulated Al Hilal team on winning the prestigious title, after defeating Al-Wehda team 2-0 in a thrilling match. He also praised Al-Wehda team for their efforts and wished them good luck in future competitions.


The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Cup is one of the oldest and most prestigious football tournaments in Saudi Arabia. It was established in 1957 and has been held annually since then. The cup is named after the King of Saudi Arabia, who is also known as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
