Royal Decree Strengthens Saudi Supreme Court




Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Feb 26, 2024):  In a move signifying continued support for the Saudi Arabian judicial system, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, issued a royal decree appointing twelve judges to the Supreme Court.


Previously holding the position of President of the Court of Appeal, the newly appointed judges bring extensive experience and expertise to the highest court in the Kingdom.


Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, welcomed the royal decree. He emphasized its role in strengthening the Supreme Court's capacity to fulfill its designated responsibilities within the established legal frameworks. These frameworks encompass the judicial system, legal proceedings, and criminal procedures.


Following the announcement, Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Luhaidan, President of the Supreme Court, and the newly appointed members expressed their sincere gratitude for the trust bestowed upon them by the King and the Crown Prince. They reaffirmed their dedication to diligently serving in their new roles and contributing to the ongoing advancement of the Kingdom's judicial system, aligned with the leadership's aspirations.
