Indian Prime Minister Modi Condemns Civilian Deaths in Israel-Hamas Conflict

In a virtual inaugural session of the second 'Voice of Global South Summit' on Friday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the loss of civilian lives in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. During his opening remarks, Modi expressed deep concern over the casualties and emphasized the need for restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy to address the crisis.

"We strongly condemn the deaths of civilians in the conflict between Israel and Hamas," stated Prime Minister Modi. He also reiterated India's condemnation of Hamas' terror attack on Israel that occurred on October 7. Modi called for a collective exercise of restraint while underlining the significance of peaceful dialogue.

In addition to denouncing the violence, Modi informed that India has provided humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine. He communicated with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to facilitate this assistance.

Addressing the participating nations, Modi urged the countries of the Global South to unite for the greater global good, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and cooperation during challenging times.

This condemnation and call for diplomatic resolution reaffirm India's commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region while acknowledging the complexities of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
