Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Inaugurates Fourth Year of Shura Council's Eighth Session

In a momentous ceremony, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, inaugurated the fourth year of the eighth session of the Shura Council, deputizing for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The event, held in Riyadh, saw the presence of dignitaries, princes, ministers, and high-ranking officials.


Upon his arrival, HRH the Crown Prince was warmly received by Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, and the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh. The ceremony commenced with the playing of the Royal Anthem.


In his opening speech, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh extended gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince for inaugurating the fourth year of the eighth session on behalf of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He highlighted the significant progress and comprehensive development achieved in the nation, attributing it to a meticulously planned and executed approach aligned with the ambitious Vision 2030. The Shura Council, under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has played a crucial role in implementing Vision 2030 programs, driving the nation towards unprecedented horizons of development.


During the third year of activity, the Shura Council held 48 sessions, issued 379 decisions, and achieved remarkable milestones, according to Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh. The progress made would not have been possible without the guidance and support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince.


HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in his Annual Royal Speech, expressed gratitude for the abundant blessings and remarkable achievements witnessed across various domains. He inaugurated the fourth year of the eighth session on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, emphasizing the nation's steadfast advancement on the path to renaissance as envisioned in Vision 2030. The Crown Prince praised the Saudi economy's fastest growth rate among the G20 countries in 2022, accompanied by historic achievements in over 50% of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals indicators.


Prince Mohammed bin Salman underscored the nation's commitment to meeting the targets of Vision 2030, emphasizing the positive outcomes achieved so far as a testament to the ability to achieve further success in implementing vital economic reforms. He also highlighted Saudi Arabia's global role, hosting significant summits, including the World Expo 2030, and its consistent approach based on respect for sovereignty, non-interference, commitment to international legitimacy, and efforts to enhance regional and global security and stability.

The Royal anthem marked the conclusion of the event, as HRH the Crown Prince bid farewell, having been seen off with the same warmth and honor that marked his arrival.


The opening ceremony of the Shura Council's fourth year was a momentous occasion attended by princes, ministers, high-ranking officials, and senior Shura Council officials, reflecting the commitment to governance, development, and progress in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
