Over 5 Million Visit Prophet's Mosque in Madinah During Ramadan's First Week

MADINAH, SAUDI ARABIA – A surge in visitors marked the first week of Ramadan at the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, according to a report issued by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque.


The report details the extensive services offered to accommodate the over 5.2 million worshippers and visitors who came to perform daily prayers.

The data reveals a significant year-on-year increase in visitors. The Presidency facilitated a meaningful experience for all, with nearly half a million individuals receiving the honor of greeting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions. Over 240,000 worshippers, following designated procedures for crowd management, performed prayers in the Rawdah Sharifah.


Recognizing the diverse needs of visitors, the Presidency offered dedicated services for over 10,482 elderly and disabled individuals. Additionally, communication services in multiple languages catered to over 110,412 visitors from various nationalities. The mosque's library provided valuable educational resources to 12,279 individuals, while exhibitions and museums attracted 4,567 visitors seeking cultural enrichment.


The report further details the logistical support provided by the Presidency. Nearly 94,814 individuals benefited from spatial guidance services, ensuring smooth navigation within the mosque's expansive grounds. Transportation assistance was offered to over 36,172 visitors, facilitating easy movement between courtyards and gates. The Presidency ensured the availability of holy Zamzam water, distributing over 144,000 bottles.


Furthermore, over 15,243 breakfast meals were provided for those observing the Ramadan fast in designated areas.

These statistics underscore the enduring significance of the Prophet's Mosque as a pivotal spiritual center for Muslims worldwide. The comprehensive report by the General Presidency highlights their commitment to providing a welcoming and enriching experience for all visitors, fostering a sense of spiritual fulfillment during this holy month.
