Riyadh, May 1, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudia Airlines and the Aseer Development Authority have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote tourism in the Aseer Region, one of Saudi Arabia’s most prominent domestic travel destinations. The agreement was formalized during the Arabian Travel Market 2025 in Dubai.
Under the strategic partnership, Saudia will develop targeted seasonal campaigns for spring, summer, and winter, aimed at increasing both bookings and visitor numbers to the mountainous southwestern region, known for its rich cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and milder climate.
The agreement underscores Saudia’s commitment to advancing local economic development through tourism and aligns with the Kingdom’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to strengthen connectivity across Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030. The national plan aims to attract 330 million visitors annually by the end of the decade.
“This strategic partnership with Saudia represents a qualitative leap in our efforts to develop Aseer as a global tourist destination,” said Hashem Al-Dabbagh, Acting CEO of the Aseer Development Authority. “It supports economic development and enhances access to the region in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.”
Saudia’s Chief Commercial Officer, Arved von zur Mühlen, highlighted the significance of the collaboration. “We are pleased to partner with the authority, utilizing our global network to highlight the natural beauty and vibrant culture of Aseer Region and integrating these offerings into our strategy,” he said.
