Riyadh, April 11, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The third edition of the Saudi Women in Development Conference, titled “Ambitious Steps for a Promising Future,” convened today at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Conference and Convention Center in Riyadh. The event, organized by the National Observatory for Women, reaffirmed the pivotal role of Saudi women in shaping a prosperous national future in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Held under the patronage of Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi, the conference brought together government representatives, civil society stakeholders, and leaders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. The gathering aimed to present key indicators related to women’s empowerment, introduce national initiatives, and foster dialogue on policy solutions that enhance female participation in leadership and development.

The program featured five panel discussions, addressing Saudi women's role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and exploring innovative strategies to increase their presence in decision-making processes. Panelists emphasized the growing impact of Saudi women in multiple sectors and discussed how targeted initiatives are enabling them to play a central role in the Kingdom’s transformation.
On the sidelines of the conference, an exhibition hosted over 25 organizations showcasing initiatives, services, and products that contribute to advancing women’s participation in economic, health, and social sectors.
The 2024 edition builds on the legacy of two earlier conferences held in 2018 and 2019, which fostered several key partnerships and research collaborations. These outcomes included coordinated efforts to assess legislative and institutional frameworks affecting women’s development and their contributions to national progress.
This conference is part of the National Observatory for Women’s continued commitment to supporting Princess Nourah University’s 2025 strategic plan, which prioritizes female leadership, national contribution, and academic excellence.
