Saudi Sports Minister Congratulates Leadership Following Al-Ahli’s AFC Champions League Elite Victory

Jeddah, May 4, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal extended his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, following Al-Ahli Saudi FC’s historic victory in the 2025 AFC Champions League Elite final.

Al-Ahli secured its first-ever title in the prestigious continental tournament with a 2–0 win over Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale in a highly anticipated final held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

In a press statement issued after the match, Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that the triumph of Al-Ahli, as the Kingdom’s national representative, is a testament to the steady progress and growing strength of Saudi football. He attributed the club’s success to the unwavering support of the Saudi leadership and the continued strategic investment in the Kingdom’s sports sector.

“The victory of Al-Ahli in the AFC Champions League Elite reflects the exceptional development Saudi football has undergone,” the minister said. “This achievement would not have been possible without the generous and unprecedented support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, whose vision has driven comprehensive progress across the sports ecosystem.”

Prince Abdulaziz congratulated Al-Ahli Club’s management, coaching staff, players, and fans, praising their performance and dedication. He also extended his appreciation to the broader Saudi sports community for its commitment to excellence and development.

The minister expressed his optimism for the future of Saudi football and reiterated his hopes for continued success for national clubs and teams in regional and international competitions.

Al-Ahli’s victory marks a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s sporting landscape and aligns with the goals of Vision 2030 to position the Kingdom as a leading nation in global sports.
