Paris, May 24 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — A high-level delegation from the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, led by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, met on Friday with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot in Paris to discuss the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip and regional peace efforts.
The meeting, held at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was part of the committee’s mandate issued by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit. The delegation also included Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty.
Talks focused on the urgent need to end hostilities in Gaza, ensure the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid, and intensify joint diplomatic efforts to halt violations committed by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians and occupied territories, in breach of international and humanitarian law.
The ministers also addressed ways to advance a political resolution to the conflict based on the two-state solution, stressing the importance of international frameworks that guarantee long-term peace, stability, and development in the region.
“The meeting reaffirmed the collective commitment to protecting civilians, restoring peace, and achieving a just and lasting solution,” the committee said in a joint statement.
The delegation and French officials further discussed preparations for the high-level international conference on the two-state solution, to be co-hosted by Saudi Arabia and France at the United Nations headquarters in New York this June.
The meeting was also attended by Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al Farhan, Advisor to the Saudi Foreign Minister for Political Affairs.
