Saudi Foreign Minister Attends Caribbean Summit In Guatemala


PARIS, France - Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Guatemala on Wednesday, leading the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the ninth summit of Caribbean heads of state.


The summit, which is held every two years, aims to strengthen the cooperation and dialogue between the Caribbean countries and their partners on various issues of common interests, such as trade, investment, tourism, climate change, security and health.


The Saudi Foreign Minister will also participle in the ministerial meeting of the Caribbean countries, which will discuss ways to enhance the bilateral relations and cooperation between the Kingdom and the Caribbean region.


The minister was received at La Aurora International Airport by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala Roberto Alfredo Urzua, Saudi Ambassador to the United Mexcican States Haithan Al-Maliki and Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba Faisal Al-Harbi.


The visit of the Saudi Foreign Minister to Guatemala reflects the Kingdom’s keenness to develop its ties with the Caribbean countries and support their development efforts. It also demonstrates the Kingdom’s active role in promoting regional international peace and stability.
