Saudi Crown Prince Receives U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Jeddah
Jeddah, March 11, 2025 – Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday evening in Jeddah, ahead of crucial talks with Ukraine aimed at ending the ongoing three-year conflict with Russia.
During the meeting, the two officials reviewed bilateral relations and explored opportunities for enhancing cooperation across various sectors, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. They also discussed regional and international developments, exchanging views on efforts to achieve security and stability.
The reception was attended by U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, while the Saudi side was represented by Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and Saudi Ambassador to Washington, Princess Reema bint Bandar.
Secretary Rubio’s visit comes ahead of scheduled discussions with Ukrainian officials on Tuesday, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to find a resolution to the conflict with Russia.
