Saudi Crown Prince Expresses Condolences To Pakistan Over Train Crash

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has sent a cable of condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi on the victims of the train derailment incident which took place in the Sindh province, South Pakistan.

HRH The Crown Prince extended his sincere condolences and sympathy to the Pakistani President and families of all deceased, appealing to Allah the Almighty to bestow his mercy upon the souls of the deceased and wishing all the injured a swift recovery.

The train crash, which occurred on Sunday morning near Nawabshah City, claimed the lives of at least 30 people and injured more than 80 others, according to local officials. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Pakistani authorities.

The Hazara Express train, which was carrying hundreds of passengers from Karachi to Lahore, derailed and landed on another track, where it was hit by a second train coming from the opposite direction. The collision resulted in severe damage to several carriages and trapped many passengers inside.

Rescue teams, including military and paramilitary troops, rushed to the scene and used heavy machinery to free the survivors from the twisted wreckage. The most seriously injured were airlifted to distant hospitals in military helicopters. An emergency was declared in the main hospitals in Nawabshah and the neighboring district of Sindh.
