Riyadh, August 22, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, donated blood on Thursday as part of an annual campaign he launched to promote voluntary blood donation in the Kingdom.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging wider community participation in voluntary blood donation and supporting national healthcare efforts to achieve 100% voluntary donations, in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives for a healthier society.

The campaign follows previous public health initiatives supported by the Saudi leadership, including receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and registering in the Organ Donation Program alongside the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

According to the Ministry of Health, more than 800,000 people donated blood nationwide in 2024. Officials said the initiative is designed to raise awareness about the importance of self-sufficiency in blood supplies to ensure safe and sustainable resources for patients across the Kingdom.

The ministry noted that a single blood donation can provide life-saving blood, plasma, or platelets for those in need.
