Riyadh (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, presided over the Cabinet session held in Riyadh on Tuesday. The Crown Prince updated the Cabinet on a recent written message he received from King Abdullah II of Jordan, which emphasized the strong and evolving relationship between the two nations.

During the session, the Cabinet discussed the latest regional and global developments, commending the Kingdom’s delegation at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Cabinet praised the delegation for reinforcing Saudi Arabia's principles on key Arab issues, international peace, and security, and reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to addressing global challenges.

One of the key highlights of the session was the Cabinet’s endorsement of the "International Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution," which was proposed by Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, Norway, and the European Union. The initiative underscores the Kingdom's unwavering support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Cabinet called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the region and emphasized the need for accountability for violations of international law.

Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, highlighted the Kingdom’s recent pledge of monthly financial support to Palestinians, as well as its provision of medical and relief aid to Lebanon. These efforts reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to alleviating humanitarian crises in Gaza and Lebanon, especially under the current volatile circumstances.

The Cabinet also reiterated Saudi Arabia's call for reforms within the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), stressing the importance of enhancing the Council’s credibility and efficiency. This comes in light of the growing global conflicts and challenges, which have raised doubts about the international system's capacity to meet people's aspirations for peace and development.

The session expressed optimism about the upcoming 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP16), set to take place in Riyadh in December. The Cabinet hopes the event will be a pivotal moment in global efforts to address environmental challenges.

On the international front, the Cabinet celebrated Saudi Arabia’s recent unanimous election to lead the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies (GlobE Network). This achievement was seen as international recognition of the Kingdom’s leadership in combating transnational corruption and supporting global anti-corruption efforts.

Domestically, the Cabinet praised the launch of the Riyadh Foundation, announced by the Crown Prince, as a step forward in supporting institutional and social work and enhancing the role of the non-profit sector in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives. Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed the Pre-Budget Statement for Fiscal Year 2025, emphasizing a continued focus on spending for essential services and strategic projects aimed at fostering economic growth and sustainable development.

In recognition of World Teachers’ Day, which will be observed on October 5, the Cabinet extended its gratitude to teachers across the Kingdom, acknowledging their vital role in building national skills, fostering innovation, and promoting Saudi values.

The Cabinet also addressed several agenda items, issuing key decisions, including:

  1. Authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs to negotiate and sign a draft cooperation agreement with Romania.

  2. Approving a draft memorandum of understanding with the Maldives in the field of fisheries.

  3. Endorsing a draft investment protection agreement with Egypt.

  4. Approving a draft agreement with Kosovo on customs cooperation.

  5. Authorizing a memorandum of understanding for geological cooperation with Kuwait.

Lastly, the Cabinet approved new regulations for temporary work visas for Hajj and Umrah services, aimed at streamlining labor processes in these critical sectors.
