Saudi Bank Credit Reaches Record SAR 3 Trillion in January 2025

Riyadh, March 13, 2025 – The total bank credit granted to the public and private sectors in Saudi Arabia reached an all-time high of SAR 3.006 trillion by the end of January 2025, according to the monthly statistical bulletin issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).


This marks an annual growth of 15%, with an increase of over SAR 348.2 billion compared to January 2024, when the total bank credit stood at SAR 2.622 trillion. On a monthly basis, the credit grew by 2%, rising by approximately SAR 50.4 billion compared to December 2024, when it was recorded at SAR 2.956 trillion.


The bank credit extended to the public and private sectors was distributed across more than 17 economic activities, underscoring its pivotal role in driving sustainable economic growth and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The significant increase reflects the Kingdom’s strong financial sector performance, investment expansion, and commitment to fostering a robust and diversified economy.
