Saudi Arabia Welcomes Australia’s Decision to Recognize Palestine, Notes New Zealand’s Consideration

Riyadh, August 11, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has welcomed Australia’s announcement of its intention to recognize the State of Palestine and acknowledged New Zealand’s decision to consider taking the same step.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended what it described as a growing international consensus in support of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Kingdom said the current phase requires peace-loving nations to formally recognize the State of Palestine and actively support efforts to end the prolonged conflict, particularly in light of what it described as Israel’s continued violations of international and humanitarian laws.
