RIYADH, May 18 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 13th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council (GRC) from May 18 to 22 in Riyadh, marking the first time the gathering is held in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region since the council’s establishment in 2012.
The event is organized by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), in collaboration with The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).
The meeting brings together presidents of national research councils and heads of funding agencies from around the world, aiming to promote global scientific cooperation, exchange knowledge, and support collective progress in research, development, and innovation.
Saudi Arabia currently serves as Vice Chair of the GRC Board of Governors, represented by Dr. Munir bin Mahmoud El-Desouki, President of KACST. The Kingdom also holds a seat on the Executive Committee, representing research institutions across the MENA region.
Hosting this edition of the GRC reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing global role in science and research and aligns with its strategy to build a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy, as part of the goals of Vision 2030.
