Saudi Arabia to Experience Varied Weather Conditions: National Center for Meteorology Issues Forecast

The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) predicts a mix of weather phenomena across various regions of Saudi Arabia. Dust-laden winds are anticipated in Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, southern Madinah, portions of the Eastern Province, Riyadh, and Qassim.

Residents in these areas can expect light to moderate rainfall alongside the possibility of fog formation in the highlands of Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah. The NCM urges motorists to exercise caution due to the potential for reduced visibility caused by dust and fog.

Wind patterns will differ depending on location. The Red Sea is expected to experience northerly to northwesterly winds ranging from 20-40 kilometers per hour (km/h) in the north and central regions, while the south will see southwesterly to northwesterly winds at speeds of 15-50 km/h. Wave heights in the Red Sea are forecast to be between one and two meters, creating relatively calm to choppy conditions.

The Arabian Gulf will experience northeasterly winds shifting to easterly at 10-30 km/h in the north, transitioning to easterly to northeasterly winds shifting to northerly at 15-35 km/h in the south. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to remain calm, with waves ranging from half a meter to one meter.
