Saudi Arabia's Airports See 25% Spoke In Travelers During Ramadan And Eid AL-Fitr

Saudi Arabia’s airports witnessed a surge in passenger traffic during the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid Al-Fitr holiday for 2023, according to the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA).

More than 11.5 million passengers traveled from and to the Kingdom’s airports during this period, up by 25 percent from the same period last year, GACA announced in a statement.

The Saudi airports welcomed passengers under the slogan “serving you is an honor”, GACA said, adding that operational integration between the government and private bodies has been reflected on the ground through the smooth and efficient handling of travelers.

During this period, Saudi airports launched more than 80,000 flights, with an average of over 2,500 flights per day.

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah served the highest number of travelers among the Saudi airports, with 4.4 million passengers, followed by King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which welcomed 3 million travelers.

Meanwhile, Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah and Dammam Airports Company served around a million passengers each. At the same time, the rest of the numbers were distributed unevenly on Cluster2 OpCo’s airports by the operational efficiency of each airport.
