Riyadh, April 28, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and flynas Airlines have announced a strategic partnership to integrate air and rail travel through a unified booking system, marking a major step toward digital transformation and improved connectivity across the Kingdom’s transport network.
The announcement was made during the opening day of the Arabian Travel Market 2025 in Dubai, underscoring both entities’ commitment to innovation and customer-focused mobility solutions. The new partnership will allow travelers to purchase airline and train tickets in a single transaction, creating a seamless, efficient travel experience.
The initiative aims to simplify passenger journeys by offering synchronized flight and train bookings through a shared digital platform. It is expected to streamline travel planning, enhance service coordination, and improve operational efficiency, particularly for pilgrims and domestic travelers navigating between key destinations.
SAR operates more than 5,500 kilometers of national rail lines and manages the Haramain High-Speed Railway, the fastest in the Middle East, connecting Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and King Abdulaziz International Airport. Operating at speeds of up to 300 km/h, the Haramain service reduces travel time between the two holy cities to approximately two hours.
The agreement with flynas, one of the Kingdom’s leading low-cost airlines, aligns with the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by promoting sustainable transportation, digital innovation, and integration across sectors. It also complements SAR’s efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s standing as a regional transport and logistics hub.
Officials from both companies emphasized that the unified booking platform represents a major advancement in user experience, supporting tourism growth, facilitating pilgrimage, and boosting regional mobility.
The platform is expected to go live in the coming months and will be available on both SAR and flynas digital channels.
