Saudi Arabia Concludes Successful Participation at WEF 2025 with Major Announcements

Davos, Switzerland, January 26, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – A high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia has successfully concluded its participation in the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, culminating in the announcement that Riyadh will host a regular high-level WEF Global Meeting starting in Spring 2026.


Led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi delegation engaged in impactful dialogues and launched initiatives aimed at addressing global challenges and unlocking opportunities for a prosperous future. Throughout the event, the delegation emphasized the importance of global collaboration, sustainable transitions, and innovation to navigate today’s fragmented world.


A Dynamic Presence at WEF 2025


The Saudi delegation included key government officials, such as Ministers of Commerce, Tourism, Investment, Finance, Economy and Planning, Communications and IT, and Industry and Mineral Resources, alongside Climate Envoy Adel Al-Jubeir. They participated in sessions such as The Global Economic Outlook, The Future of Growth, Saudi Arabia’s Economic Shifts, and Safeguarding Nature, Securing People.


The Ministry of Economy and Planning also hosted the first-ever Saudi House pavilion at WEF, featuring participation from numerous government entities and private sector representatives. The pavilion, which attracted over 5,000 visits, showcased Saudi Arabia’s transformative journey under Vision 2030, highlighting investment opportunities, economic reforms, and human capital development.


Key Initiatives and Agreements


  • Centre for Cyber Economics in Riyadh: The Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF) and WEF announced a new Centre for Cyber Economics, focusing on the economic dimensions of cybersecurity. The center will drive research and foster global collaboration on cybersecurity’s economic impact.

  • Decarbonizing Industrial Clusters: Jubail Industrial City became the first in the region to join WEF’s initiative to decarbonize industrial clusters, a project in collaboration with Accenture and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).

  • Salesforce and IBM Partnerships: Salesforce announced the opening of a regional headquarters in Riyadh and committed to upskilling 30,000 Saudi citizens by 2030. Additionally, Salesforce partnered with IBM to establish an AI Innovation Center in the Kingdom.

  • Tourism and Innovation Reports: The Ministry of Tourism published an Investor White Paper on the sector’s transformation under Vision 2030, while the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority released a report on the “Saudi Arabia’s Markets of Tomorrow Accelerator,” outlining strategies to drive economic transformation and entrepreneurship.

The announcement of Riyadh as a host city for a high-level WEF Global Meeting in 2026 underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a global platform for dialogue and innovation. This significant development reflects the Kingdom’s dedication to fostering international collaboration and addressing critical global challenges through Vision 2030 initiatives.
