Riyadh Hosts Groundbreaking “Art Week Riyadh” as Kingdom Expands Global Cultural Presence

Riyadh, April 11, 2025, (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - “Art Week Riyadh,” organized by the Visual Arts Commission, has emerged as a milestone in Saudi Arabia’s cultural transformation, positioning the capital as a leading destination for contemporary art and global cultural exchange.
Running through April 13, 2025, the event showcases more than 200 artists across 13 key venues and features over 100 diverse activations including art exhibitions, workshops, dialogue sessions, and visual performances. The initiative reflects the Kingdom’s growing prominence as a hub for innovation in art and its strategic commitment to cultural development under Vision 2030.
Art Week Riyadh brings together over 50 local and international galleries, underscoring the event’s global scope. The flagship exhibition, “At the Edge,” held in the JAX District, explores the evolving creative landscape across the Middle East and North Africa, presenting works from 30 galleries and a rich variety of contemporary artists. Visitors are offered a behind-the-scenes look into artistic processes and can participate in interactive workshops covering pottery, narrative drawing, and still-life techniques led by both Saudi and international creatives.
Notable highlights include “Collections in Dialogue,” an exhibition open until May 31, 2025, featuring selections from the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) and the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), alongside prominent international artworks. Additionally, the LArt Pur Foundation, chaired by Princess Adwaa bint Yazeed bin Abdullah Al Saud, presents “A World of Silence,” a sculpture exhibition celebrating the artistic relationship between Saudi Arabia and Egypt through the works of eight regional artists.
The week-long event offers family-friendly programming and fosters cultural engagement among all age groups, solidifying the Ministry of Culture’s mission to enhance creative industries as a key pillar of the national economy.
