RIYADH, May 11 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Arab European Cities Dialogue (AECD 2025) was launched in Riyadh on Sunday, bringing together more than 100 mayors from Arab and European cities, along with representatives from international organizations and development institutions. The event is organized by Riyadh Municipality.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mayor of the Riyadh Region and President of the Arab Urban Development Institute, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, highlighted the historical and evolving relationship between Arab and European cities. He emphasized the role of such dialogue in shaping the design, governance, and sustainability of urban environments.

Prince Faisal noted that while Arab and European cities face both common and region-specific challenges, the forum is built on shared urban priorities. He stressed the importance of constructing people-centered cities that improve quality of life.

The AECD aims to promote exchange of expertise, strengthen institutional collaboration, and support innovation in city planning and development across both regions.
