AlUla, January 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Richard Mille Polo Team emerged victorious at the 2025 Desert Polo Championship, defeating the Ikmah Team 8–6 in a thrilling final held at Al-Fursan Village in AlUla. The prestigious event, organized in collaboration with the Saudi Polo Federation and the Royal Commission for AlUla, showcased world-class talent and celebrated the growing prominence of polo in the Kingdom.
The championship trophy was presented to the winning team by Amr Zedan, Chairman of the Saudi Polo Federation, and Abeer AlAkel, Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for AlUla. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Piero Delier, President of the International Polo Federation.
Led by Argentinian polo legend Pablo Mac Donough, the Richard Mille team also featured Clare Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven, and Saudi player Mohammed Al-Suwaidi. The Ikmah Team, comprising prominent players such as Nacho Figueras, HRH Prince Hamza bin Abbas, and Blouy Bingxing, kept the final match fiercely competitive. With the score tied late into the game, Richard Mille secured victory by scoring two decisive goals in the closing moments.

The two-day championship brought together six teams in a display of intense skill and sportsmanship. Ranking matches added to the excitement, with the Dadan Team edging out the Budget Team 7–6 in a dramatic last-place playoff. In the subsidiary cup final, the Bentley Team triumphed over the AlUla Team 6–5.
Individual accolades highlighted the tournament’s exceptional talent. Prince Hamza bin Abbas was named Best Player of the Tournament, Clare Mountbatten received the Best Female Player Award, and Nacho Figueras was recognized as the tournament's top scorer. The horse Obsolete earned the award for Best Horse of the Tournament, further underscoring the event’s commitment to excellence in equestrian sports.
