Red Sea Film Festival opens submissions for 2025 edition in Jeddah

JEDDAH, May 7 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Red Sea International Film Festival has opened submissions for its fifth edition, which will be held from December 4 to 12, 2025, in the Jeddah Historic District.
Filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Africa, and Asia are invited to apply between May 6 and August 17. A free early submission period is available until July 7.
The festival will accept entries for three competitive sections: Long Films Competition, Shorts Competition, and the New Saudi/New Cinema program.
Films selected will compete for the Yusr Awards, including the Golden Yusr for Best Feature Film, valued at $100,000. Additional prizes include Best Director, Jury Award, and Golden Yusr for Best Short Film.
The event is positioned as a platform for established directors and emerging talent across the Global South.
